Called To Be A Healer

Image
We tend to think about "a calling" in terms of ministry and matters of faith. And while that might be the prime example, its certainly not the only kind. Imagine if God only filled "the called" into churches, how small the impact and outreach might be. Instead people of all walks of life and in all types of professions are called into their special gifting and make just as large, if not a bigger, impact to those that they encounter. Such is the case with this story which surprisingly does not include many details and Uplift's attempts to investigate further has yet to render better results. Papa Vacations with Pepa

Image
This was probably not the first time a kid snuck something into a loved ones luggage nor will it be the last. There is something about children wanting to remind you not to forget about them that drives the inclination. So many a parent or grandparent have probably opened their suitcase only to find a hand-written card, a memento, or even a favorite toy stowing a ride and offering a surprise to the traveler once at their destination. That is how it all started for grandpa, David Zielke as he opened his bags and found granddaughter Lisette had put her Peppa Pig toys in with his clothing.  Grandpa filming Peppa's family for Lisette Most would find the gesture cute, enjoy a smile, and maybe even mention how special it was the next time they spoke to the young one. But David had an even more elaborate idea. Soon he was photographing and filming the Peppa Pig family at the pool enjoying a swim, on the lounge chairs getting some sun, on the sandy beach enjoying the weather, and eve...

Mistaken Text Leads To Marriage

Image
There is an expression that says, "a coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous." Have you ever felt like that? Most people experience a wide range of coincidences where things just seem to work out in an unexpected but pleasant way. But when it comes to the story of Brenda Rivera and Isiah Stern the coincidence was not a small one and it actually started with a Bible verse. You see Rivera was trying to send a friend an encouraging scripture via text quoting from Philippians 2:  do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself. Wrong number leads to marriage & kids After hitting 'send' the message actually went to Stern as Rivera typed her friends number but was one digit off. Seeing the scripture on his phone from an unknown number he couldn't help but reply so Isiah said, "Amen to that. Who is this?" Soon the mistake led to conversations. Conversations led to a growing trust. Trust...
