Uplifting Inspiration, Steve Hartman

Image
Though not completely based on Mr. Hartman and his efforts to, as he states, "put a spotlight on kindness," Uplift Media certainly takes some inspiration and aligns perfectly in the undertaking. In fact, when searching for good news stories, his videos come up more often than any other source. They are so abundant and good that we've had to intentionally not post some in effort to keep from duplicating his efforts and relying on him solely.  We are clearly not the only fans of him and his amazing news segment called, " On the Road with Steve Hartman " as he was recognized recently by the Canterbury School on March 6, 2024 hailing him as the "King of Kindness" . The students at the school pile into the chapel area every Wednesday to watch his newest offering and simply love him like a celebrity rock star. Who better to admire and adore than a guy like that? More Than A Janitor

Image
What comes to mind when you consider the workplace title of High School Janitor? Probably not many glamourous images related to the job duties of cleaning up after hundreds of teenagers. You might imagine a person dawning a uniform, gloves, and a variety of cleaning tools like a mop, bucket, rags, and spray bottles. It would seem appropriate that said individual would have a big key chain to access all the rooms and storage areas to complete his or her assigned duties. You would be accurate in those observations but if you visit Trinity High School in Euless Texas you might find out much more about their janitor, Charles Clark.  His career with the school began twenty-five years ago and very shortly after starting his daily tasks he noticed some students that seemed to be falling through the cracks. Rather than keep to himself, he decided to sit down with them for one-to-one chats. In these discussions you could observe Charles encouraging the teens, advising them, answering q...

My Uncle Is Superman

Image
"My dad can beat up your dad!" is a common brag around the elementary school yard. And so are a whole host of other claims that typically never get vetted in a manner as to provide proof. You just either have to believe your dad can beat up Billy's dad or vice versa because the odds of getting a boxing match between the two are pretty low. And that's beside the point anyway. Kids hero worship of their parents and various other adults in their life is normal and part of what makes them feel significant to their peers. But imagine actually having a superhero, like Superman, be related to you and getting in trouble with your teacher for "lying about it" despite the truth of the claim. Enter actor Henry Cavill's nephew Thomas who was proudly proclaiming that his uncle was indeed Superman to all who would listen. Cavill, who recounted the hilarious tale on various TV programs, including the Tonight Show said to Leno, "Keep in mind Thomas has got a grea...
