Called To Be A Healer

We tend to think about "a calling" in terms of ministry and matters of faith. And while that might be the prime example, its certainly not the only kind. Imagine if God only filled "the called" into churches, how small the impact and outreach might be. Instead people of all walks of life and in all types of professions are called into their special gifting and make just as large, if not a bigger, impact to those that they encounter. Such is the case with this story which surprisingly does not include many details and Uplift's attempts to investigate further has yet to render better results. However, what is known is still heartwarming and deserving of coverage.

Celebrating a miracle

A young lady named Bailey suddenly and unexplainably was paralyzed from the waist down. Paralysis from a known injury is scary enough but imagine just waking up one day and your legs will not work. As one might expect medical treatment was sought after and soon this young lady was in the care of the subject of this article, we'll call her Nurse Angel. After eleven days of treatment not only did Bailey regain feeling in her legs, she was able to stand up and walk. Knowing exactly who would want to celebrate this good news, she immediately wheeled herself down the hall and spotted her favorite nurse technician.

As the two made eye contact, Bailey gave her caregiver the best surprise by standing, walking toward her, and offering an embrace. Nurse Angel not only embraced her back, she shrieked with joy squeezing her patient ever so tightly as though she were her own daughter. "Yes! Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, I have been praying for you," exclaims the excited nurse as she holds the embrace and rocks back and forth with gratitude. Its no wonder Bailey went straight to this genuine and caring woman. To be this invested in your patients and to care at this level truly shows a calling into medical services. You might even say she was called to be a healer. We at Uplift believe this is not the only person that has benefitted greatly from Nurse Angel nor will it be the last. Touching people's lives, regardless of the outcome, is something to be admired and celebrated.
